Introduction

Almost each and every day, when you are combing your social media feed, you will see people offer — both for free and for an introductory rate of $29.95 a month — coaching that will give you suggestions on how to succeed at, well, just about anything! From the tips from your friends and connections to those ads that mysteriously get inserted into your feed by “Mr.Google,” one can hardly escape seeing tips, tricks, shortcuts, hacks, and more on how to be better, live better, and succeed more often. You can live better, love better, succeed more, and yes, lose those extra 10 — or more — pounds, all with the help of some online wisdom — and maybe your credit card as well!

And yet, every once and a while, you can actually see the wisdom of the crowd at work. Sometimes, an interesting and insightful can actually take place online. No, not a discussion about who is the best college football team or for or against President Trump, but about how to really, yes, really improve yourself.
